New Storage Management Dashboard for Oracle Gives Application Managers Storage Service Visibility
ORLANDO, FL – NOVEMBER 1, 2006 – Onaro, Inc., the leader in storage service management (SSM), announced today at Storage Networking World Fall 2006 (Booth PP 35) that Oracle is participating in the Onaro Service Connections program, an ecosystem of partners committed to developing solutions to help businesses implement new storage service management offerings. As part of this initiative, Onaro is delivering SANscreen Storage Dashboard for Oracle, a software plug-in between Onaro SANscreen storage service management software and Oracle Enterprise Manager 10g Grid Control. Onaro is also joining the Oracle Partner Network.
Application managers are key consumers of storage resources. But despite their status, storage continues to remain a black hole for them as today’s storage management applications do not provide ‘actionable’ information useful to the application manager. The combined solution from Onaro and Oracle will deliver immediate value to application managers in large enterprises by providing real-time visibility into the underlying storage infrastructure that supports Oracle applications. Using this visibility, application managers can dramatically accelerate problem resolution, service provisioning, and resource planning.
Oracle Enterprise Manager 10g automates four critical management activities: application service levels; deployment and configuration; enterprise administration including provisioning and patch management; and heterogeneous extensibility and interoperability.
