Onaro Names Utility Computing Veteran as Vice President, Marketing

BOSTON, MA – January 19, 2006 – Onaro, Inc., the leader in Storage Service Management (SSM), today announced that Bryan Semple has joined the company as vice president, marketing.  Semple joins Onaro from Egenera, Inc. where he served as vice president, product marketing and strategy.  He brings to Onaro extensive product marketing expertise in the utility computing marketplace.

“Bryan is an excellent addition to Onaro’s executive team.  He brings a depth of industry experience and track record of success,” said Doug McNary, Onaro’s president and CEO.  “He will have an immediate impact as we continue to strengthen our leadership position and expand our multi-channel sales effort.  I’m very pleased to have him join our team.”

“Onaro is in a rapidly growing market space and is the only solutions provider focused on filling the gap between storage device management and managing storage as a service,” said Semple.  “I look forward to applying my utility computing experience to storage service management.”

As Vice President of Marketing, Bryan is responsible for all aspects of marketing including product positioning, PR, marketing communications, field, partner and OEM support.  While at Egenera, one of the world’s fastest growing technology companies, Bryan oversaw all product marketing and strategy as vice president.  During his tenure at Egenera, he built the tools, processes and product positioning to enable dramatic revenue and customer growth to over 100 customers and a $300M OEM agreement with Fujitsu Siemens Computers.  Prior to Egenera, Bryan held several senior management roles at FairMarket (now part of eBay) including vice president of marketing and vice president of sales and business development.  Earlier in his career, Bryan held sales and marketing positions with Trellix Corporation, PEPSICO, and Sybase. Semple started his career in the U.S. Navy as a nuclear submarine officer.  He holds an MBA from Stanford University and a BS in Systems Engineering from the United States Navel Academy.
