Onaro, Inc. Co-Founder and Chief Scientist, Raphael Yahalom, Panelist at Storage World Conference Spring

Panel to Focus on State of the SRM Sector; Yahalom to Speak on Storage Service Management

BOSTON, MA - June 13, 2006 - Onaro, Inc., the leader in storage service management (SSM), announced today that Dr. Raphael Yahalom, co-founder and chief scientist, will be a featured panelist at the Storage World Conference Spring, taking place June 20-22, 2006 in Long Beach, CA. Yahalom's panel entitled, "State of the SRM Sector" will be moderated by Simon Robinson, sector head, storage & systems for The 451 Group, and will take place on Wednesday, June 21 from 3:00 - 3:55 pm.

Over the past 24 months, the category of storage resource management products has grown to include many products from many different companies. This growth combined with customer response from new products is forcing the industry to wrestle with the meaning of SRM. This session discusses the SRM industry, where it is and where it is headed.

"Managing the configurations of individual devices by storage resource management applications is certainly interesting. Yet although storage teams need to manage these devices, their end customers - the application teams - don't care about switch or array configurations," explained Raphael Yahalom, co-founder, chief scientist, and customers-advocate, Onaro, Inc. "Application teams care about the storage services delivered to them. In Onaro's view, storage resource management needs to move beyond talking about storage devices to a discussion about storage service management."

As Onaro's Chief Scientist and Customer Advocate, Dr. Raphael Yahalom directs the long-term technological vision of the company to help drive future growth and competitive advantage. He works closely with Onaro's customers on business-value measurements and reporting, and on industry thought-leadership activities. Dr. Yahalom combines expertise in both academic research and innovative applied business solutions. Prior to co-founding Onaro, Dr. Yahalom was a visiting faculty member at MIT's Sloan School of Management and a faculty member at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, specializing in research in areas of information technologies, distributed systems, information security, electronic commerce and risk management. He also held invited visiting scientist appointments at AT&T Bell Labs, Siemens Research Labs, Karlsruhe University (Germany), Cambridge University (UK) and Cornell University. Dr. Yahalom has also worked with large financial organizations on formal analysis and design of operational business processes.

Dr. Yahalom obtained a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Cambridge University (UK) and a B.S. (cum laude) in EECS from the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology.
