Onaro, Inc. Vice President of Marketing, Bryan Semple, Panelist at Storage World Conference Fall
Panel to Focus on Closing the Storage Management Gap; Semple to Speak on Storage Service Management
BOSTON, MA – September 8, 2006 – Onaro, Inc., the leader in storage service management (SSM), announced today that Bryan Semple, vice president of marketing, will be a featured panelist at the Storage World Conference Fall, taking place September 19-21, 2006 at the Seaport Hotel & World Trade Center, Boston, MA. Semple’s panel entitled, “Storage Management – Closing the Storage Management Gap – What’s Taking So Long?” will be moderated by Fred Moore, president, Horison Information Strategies, Inc., and will take place on Wednesday, September 20 from 3:00 – 3:50 pm in Waterfront Ballroom 2.
The demand for improved storage management is growing faster than the capabilities and deployment of existing tools. With new challenges steadily appearing, and a growing shortage of skilled storage administrators, software and technology must ultimately rise to the occasion for this gap to ever close. Are the days for backup/recovery numbered? Can data protection overcome the challenges ahead? This session will tackle key developments underway and discuss the reality of closing the gap.
“Storage environments continue to grow in complexity driven by such technologies as virtualization and continuous data protection,” said Bryan Semple, vice president of marketing, Onaro, Inc. “While the technologies grow more complex, the services demanded of the storage teams have also grown. Until the gap is closed between storage device management and service management, storage management issues will not be solved.”
As Vice President of Marketing, Mr. Semple is responsible for all aspects of Onaro’s marketing operations including product positioning, public relations and marketing communications, as well as field, partner and OEM support. Prior to joining Onaro, Mr. Semple was vice president of product marketing and strategy at Egenera, one of the world’s fastest-growing technology companies. During his tenure at Egenera, he built the tools, processes and product positioning to enable dramatic revenue and customer growth – resulting in a customer base of over 100 organizations and a $300M OEM agreement with Fujitsu Siemens Computers. Previously Mr. Semple held senior management roles at FairMarket (now part of eBay), including vice president of marketing and vice president of sales and business development. Earlier in his career, he held sales and marketing positions with Trellix Corporation, PEPSICO and Sybase. Mr. Semple started his career in the U.S. Navy as a nuclear submarine officer. He holds a master’s degree in business administration from Stanford University and a bachelor’s degree in systems engineering from the United States Naval Academy.
