Database Administrators (DBA’s) are key customers for the storage team. Unfortunately, storage is many times a black hole for database administrators since today’s storage management applications don’t provide actionable information for the DBA.
SANscreen provides a service centric view of storage that is actionable throughout IT. Now with the SANscreen Storage Dashboard for Oracle Grid Control, DBAs can understand the services delivered by the storage environment to their database from within the Oracle Grid Control application.
For each database host monitored by the system, the following information is presented within the Oracle Grid Control Application:
- Name of the host
- Number of service level violations detected by SANscreen on the storage paths that originate from this host
- Paths, storage capacity and raw capacity for this host

Using the SANscreen Plug-In for Oracle Grid Control, DBAs can:
- Gain global visibility into the storage services delivered to databases in real time for heterogeneous environments
- Quickly assess whether database issues are the result of storage service violations
- Monitor the provisioning of storage services to support a database
